LA Championship

Yea, I know it's kind of late considering that the Championships were on Saturday, but it was a big disappointment. Not only did we fail to get into the finals, we did not even get any awards. Our hard work was for nothing. Our determination was evidently not enough. What really gets to me is that it really is the end. The hours that we've spent working, learning the game, knowing the game like its the back of our hands, testing, worrying, it's all over now, and it has resulted in nothing. No trophy, award, or title will recognize everything that we have done. I am indeed sad to see it go, but I have accepted total unconditional defeat. The journey has ended, short of what I had aimed for, but nevertheless, it has ended.

We weren't good enough to take the title as a champion. We were only good enough to get to the semi-finals and fail. We were so close too. It was a pretty intense match, I'll admit that, but in the end, we did not prevail. The robot performed as it was supposed to, but I was not able to control it as I was supposed to. I failed :(. There were also technical problems outside of our control.
The one last chance, to qualify for world, was within reach, but in the end, we were not able to win :'(.

Overall we did pretty well. We were able to defeat every team except for team 687-Epsilon. That I am proud of, but again, we were unable to make it past the semi-finals.
VEX Elevation which has once occupied such a large portion of both my conscious and unconscious mind is now going to be put to rest. I'll get a few of the videos of our matches onto youtube soon, so be sure to check that.

Now, I move onto FTC in hopes that I will succeed at least one of my goals in robotics this year. Cheers to all CAMS team! Carry on the name that has been mentioned in awe worldwide thanks to the victory at Pan Pacific.

Upcoming LA Regionals

So, this upcoming Saturday is a pretty big day for a Robotics nerd like me :). This is where everything will come together. This is the last chance for us to make the World Championships in Dallas. That has been my dream for about a month now, and there is so much pressure to win at this competition.
It's going to be pretty tough too since there is going to be like 50 teams. I just realize how lame our design is. Hopefully, my dreams will come true. Ugh, I just hope that the countless hours that we've put into the robot was worth it. If we lose here, it is the end of the road for us.
I am actually so obsessed with winning that I'm not putting as much effort into the mousetrap car as I should. I am actually behind in several classes because of robotics -____-. That's dedication to the verge of stupidity, but I do really want to win.
Things I am neglecting as a result of robotics:
1) Novel
2) Mousetrap Car
3) STUDYING <-- thats a big one
4) SLEEP <----- thats the most important in my opinion

I just hope that we do well enough in robotics, and win at LA so that everything will be worth it. After LA, we'll be tearing down that robot down :'(. However, if we win there, then we will be tearing down to rebuild. If we lose, then we will be tearing it down in tears, never to look at VEX Elevation again. Man, I can honestly say it's been quite a journey. Let's hope that the journey doesn't end until I reach my goal.

When I look at the robot, I notice every design flaw. So much work to do, so little time. Friday night will be nerve racking for me.

Now, I go to slay the abomination known as homework. The monster that has steadily been getting stronger due to my neglect and procrastination (I think that word has such a bad connotation). I shall not relent until I either collapse from exhaustion or the demon is slain.

Thanksgiving Break

Okay, so, I got absolutely nothing done this break. It went by so quickly.

Here were my goals:
1) Get more sleep [accomplished]
2) Play some video games [accomplished]
3) Write to page 75 in my novel [EPIC FAILURE]
4) Start POW [EPIC FAILURE]
5) Start history day [EPIC FAILURE]
6) Start mouse trap car [EPIC FAILURE]
7) Robotics [fail]
8) Finish all homework [accomplished]
9) Review for bio [FAIL]
10) Practice more piano [EPIC FAILURE]

As you can see... 3 out of 10 -____-.

Number 2 is why everything else failed.
What kind of break is this? It's like a week without school to catch up on projects. -sigh-
Did you know that stress causes constipation?
If you get constipated.. blame it on the teachers.

So, this break was not as fun as I had hoped. I just spent a lot of time ATTEMPTING to work on my novel. Like right now, I've been on page 45 for like 3 hours now. -sigh-

I can't wait until Christmas break! The novel will be done, mouse trap car will be done.
Two weeks of pure bliss... (yea right) plus one week of FRC (even though i didnt make the team)

Epic Fail

Well, so, today, I stayed after school to finish my robot for Saturday. I'm surprised at how much we got done without certain people *cough*.
Well, it's still a failure and we're way behind. If anything major goes wrong in the next few days, we'll be pretty much screwed. However, if everything goes as we imagine, we have a pretty good chance of winning.
But, knowing my luck and my fate. I will probably fail that day.
